About Brixton
Brixton is an area of South London ,part of the London Borough of Lambeth.It is bordered by Stockwell, Claphan Common, Streatham, Camberwell, Tulse Hill and Herne Hill. Brixton is an inner suburb 3,3 miles south of Charing Cross and is the unofficial capital of the Jamaican African British and Caribbean community of London.
There is a significant clubbing and live music scene. An interesting place is Brixton's market where you can find a variety of Afro-Caribbean products and South American butchers.Brixton was visited by Nelson Mandela in 1996.
Some of the nearest places are Tooting, Camberwell, Clapham, some of the nearest tube stations-Brixton Tube Station, Stockwell Tube Station. Trains operate from Brixton railway station between London Victoria and Kent.
